Catherine Deneuve, 1943

Picture
Catherine Deneuve is a French legend and as she has aged she has continued to look great. Although her body has changed significantly over the decades, her fuller figure doesn't stop her from looking beautiful.

Here she's wearing a classic outfit that is both beautiful and age-appropriate.  The short faux-fur jacket over a green dress is lovely, and perfectly accented by that blue handbag.

Despite occasional fashion errors, the devine Deneuve is an inspiration to women of all ages.

The Black Dress

Picture
Have you noticed that many French icons do not change their hairstyles?  Catherine's shoulder-length blonde hair, swept away from her face, has been her signature look for decades.

This black dress with three-quarter length sleeves is a dynamic look for her.  Yes, you can wear black after a certain age but you have to make sure that it's not draining.

Just that little pin on her shoulder lightens the look.

One Shoulder Dress

Picture
A one shoulder dress is possibly the most flattering neckline for women over forty. The strong diagonal line makes the shoulders look stronger and is universally slimming. Here, the bold earrings and simple hair create a beautiful, powerful look.

A Shock of Green

Picture
Catherine again chooses a one shoulder black dress and accents it with a pretty green wrap and green earrings.

Simple jewelry, not over the top, and certainly not boring.
